Business Driven Technology.
In this era, we hear, see and even been surrounded with IT. A moment to ponder, what is IT really means? Do we know what is the IT we've been using all this while? Let us read and learn what is IT actually means shall we?
There are 2 basic in IT. Firstly is IT itself. Information Technology basically is everywhere in the business. It is a field that concerned with the use of technology in managing and processing information.Second is MIS that is Management Information System. MIS is actually a business function or academic discipline that cover 3 application of people, technology and procedures. MIS is also like some sort of department similarly with Finance, Marketing and etc. Without MIS in an organization, a business cannot run smoothly like instance, MIS department will help the Finance department with any problems regarding IT (computer hang or broke down).
In IT, it is important for us to understand data, information and business intelligence. Last but not least, we need to know about IT Cultures. There are 4 of them that is Information-functional culture which means employees use information exercising influence or power over others, information-sharing culture for employees to share the information over departments to improve performance, information-inquiring culture teach the employee to go out and seek for the information to align with the current trends and lastly information-discovery culture; which employees across departments are open to new insights about crises and radical changes and seek ways to create competitive advantages.

Competitive Advantage.
Let's continue run the second chapter shall we? As you can see above, what cross your mind by that Competitive Advantage title? So I'm here to tell you what it is actually about.
Firstly, Competitive Advantage is a product or service that an organization's customer place a greater value on than similar offerings from a competitor. Second is the First-mover Advantage which occurs when an organization being the first one came out with a new competitive advantage. Well lastly is Environmental Scanning. The acquisition analysis of events and trends in the environment external to an organisation.
One of the tools to analyze and identify the competitive advantage is Porter's Five Forces Model which include Buyer power, Supplier power, Threats of substitute products, Threats of new entrants and rivalry among existing competitors.
